A fantastic location in the heart of England, with culture, adventure and nature on the doorstep, the University is ideal for summer school groups.
Keele’s semi-rural campus is only 5 miles from Stoke-on-Trent, and we can easily be accessed from Junctions 15 and 16 of the M6. Manchester Airport is nearest to Keele, about 35 miles away and Gatwick and Heathrow are both approximately three hours’ drive away. The nearest train stations are Stoke-on-Trent or Crewe and both have very good rail links to the rest of the country.
The University’s Campus provides accommodation at the heart of the self contained campus during the university’s summer holiday period, with a total of 1,500 rooms offering both ensuite and non-ensuite facilities.
The wide range of sports facilities available on campus allows for summer schools to benefit from a number of social and sporting activities in the Sports Centre - with indoor sports halls, 8 tennis courts, 3 rugby pitches and 6 football pitches. The various campus venues offer a range of classroom facilities, whether you need a tiered or flat-floored space for your classes and sessions.
Summer school packages can include full board or half board catering, with a wide range of meals using quality seasonal produce.
There are many local attractions in Staffordshire and the surrounding counties which offer the opportunity to learn about and explore the heart of England. The events team can assist summer school organisers in arranging off site excursions and days out to theme parks, museums, cinemas and more. Half day programmes could include visits to Manchester, Birmingham, Stratford and Liverpool - the choice is yours.
