Guest Information
Accommodation
The event you are attending will be taking place on the main University campus and you will be staying in one of our Halls of Residences, which are all located a short walking distance from our restaurants and meeting rooms. It may be advisable that you bring an umbrella and comfortable footwear.
Your bedroom will be a single room with en-suite or standard facilities. All bedrooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, towels and toiletries and a telephone (see below for more information). Irons and ironing boards are available throughout our halls and notices will indicate where these are located.
We would advise that you bring your own hairdryer and alarm clock, as these are not supplied in the bedrooms.
If you have any special requirements, Keele are able to offer specially adapted bedrooms (subject to availability). Please speak to your event organiser who will be happy to advise.
All bedrooms are non-smoking
Telephones
All rooms are equipped with a free room-to-room/ direct-dial telephone, operated by a “key com” system. In order to use your room phone externally you are requested to register, via your room phone, by providing your credit/debit card details. Further information is available from either of our main campus receptions.
Reception
Our staff will be pleased to answer your queries between 8.30am – 7pm at Chancellors or Darwin Receptions. You can contact both receptions by internal phone from your hall of residence. Outside of these hours please contact our 24hr security team who will be pleased to help.
Luggage
A luggage store will be available on arrival. Please speak to a member of staff at your key registration for more details
Check in and check-out times
Rooms will be available after 1pm for check in. Please vacate your bedroom by 9.30am on your day of departure. On departure keys are to be deposited in the “key return boxes”, located in the halls of residence. Please inform your event organiser prior to arrival, of any difficulties you may have in the unlikely event of an evacuation (e.g. hearing or walking difficulties).
Internet access
Wi-fi internet access is available - using a unique log-in code - in your bedroom (for which you will need an Ethernet cable) and the Chancellor’s Building. Please speak to a member of staff at Chancellor’s Reception for more information and to obtain your log-in details.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided in one of our 3 restaurants. All our restaurants offer excellent buffet style lunch, a cooked or continental breakfast and evening meals. Your event organiser will be able to advise you regarding the catering arrangements for your event. Our café bar is located in Chancellor’s building, ideal for networking or a quiet drink during your day and serves tea, coffee and a variety of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks.
Launderettes
Coin operated launderettes are available on campus at the following halls – Horwood, Barnes, Lindsays and Hawthorns. Please contact reception to obtain an access card (£10 deposit payable).
Sports Centre
All residential guests have use of the campus grounds and complimentary use of the fitness centre. Other facilities, including squash and tennis courts are available. To make use of the facilities please take your bedroom key and present it at the Sports Centre Reception.
