Keele University Hosts Pro FC Football Camp
Keele Conferences & Events, part of Keele University, has been chosen to host the Pro FC Easter Football Camp. Pro FC has been set up by former professional footballer and current Barnet FC Manager, Martin Allen and Blackpool FC Striker, DJ Campbell.
Taking place from 11-15th April, the ‘X Factor’ style camp gives talented players the chance to train with managers and coaches who have worked at one or more of the top 92 professional league clubs in England. The most outstanding players will earn themselves trials at Newcastle United, West Ham United and other Football League clubs.
The five day, four night camp is expected to attract around 90 of the country’s most promising players and will utilise the university’s football training areas and pitches, as well as its presentation rooms and accommodation facilities. During their stay, players will also enjoy a specially created menu compiled by Damien Doyle, Head of Sports Science at MK Dons FC in conjunction with the university’s executive chef, Peter Walters, which is designed to give Pro FC players a nutritional insight into the food that is recommended to professional footballers.
