Sustainability

Keele University is committed to reducing its impact on the environment across all of its activities and services. The university measures its annual carbon footprint and has a carbon management plan to reduce emissions from energy use on site, waste and transport. 

On campus we have implemented a range of energy efficient measures such as intelligent lighting and improved insulation. 

A new campus wide recycling scheme was also launched in November 2010 for paper, cardboard, plastics and cans.http://www.keele.ac.uk/estates/energyenvironment/

The keele University Hub for Sustainability building will open in the summer of 2011 and will demonstrate a range of renewable and energy efficient technologies. http://www.keele.ac.uk/keelehub
